The Infinity Room

The Infinity Room is made of over six hundred lights and pieces of glass it is

designed to make you feel as if you were in the nothingness of space. when i was

onside that room my mind felt open, it let all the ideas flow, because it was so calm

there were no distractions. feeling as if you were in space surrounded by nothing

but stars from every direction is amazing that is the point of the Infinity Room to

feel complete secluded and to have your mind calm so all your thoughts can be heard

clearly and correctly.

Speak connection
By: Faiyaz Hasan
In most books people love to connect to the main character but in this book the main characters personality is one that I can’t relate to very much. Also there is a character that’s called Mr. Neck who has many character flaws like short temper and a one track mind that bring him down.

Melanie is an outcast, because she had called the cops at a party and people have gotten fired from their jobs and even arrested. Her friends have abandoned her and now she is almost no self confidence, this is something that I cannot relate to at all, I have never felt completely alone or had almost everyone I’ve known shun me I also am not the type of person to stay quiet or be shy.

Angry, stubborn, and a one track mind are all characteristics f Mr. Neck he is never wrong, and if you dare to stand up to him he will lose his temper as he has showed before. When Mr. Neck’s son did not get a job as a fire fighter Mr. Neck starts a debate in class about immigration. “America should have closed their borders in 1990” he wrote on the board, he is convinced that his son did not get the job due to some reverse discrimination. Soon after the debate started it started going in the opposite direction Mr. Neck wanted it to go so he stopped it. But then the kid that all teachers love and who never gets in trouble could not drop the subject, he could not let Mr. Neck stop a debate because it was going bad so the student went to the principal’s office just for sharing his view, and Mr. Neck didn’t even give it a second thought even though the students facts and opinion were accurate and intelligent.

Patriotism

By: Faiyaz Hasan
Does patriotism still matter it all depends on what your definition of patriotism is whether its honoring your country, going to war for your country, and saying the “Pledge of Allegiance” every day. When I hear the word patriotism some quotes come to mind even some that have almost nothing to do with patriotism.“If you are ashamed to stand by the colors of your flag you had better find another flag”-Anonymous. Yes patriotism always will matter but understanding that others have different takes on what patriotism is the most important part of it.

The Body in Henrys House
Response
Interested, confused, and wanting more is how this short story left me. this story is based on a utopia everything is perfect even if there is a dead body to them it is nothing weird just a body that they never even notice. This romance story has little to no conflict and this story shows me that sometimes love does conquer all.

A well lighted place
(Essay)
Did Hemingway know what he was writing about when he wrote a well lit place? Did he ever even imagine that he was going to become in the future? From even though he might not of done it consciously he probably did it subconsciously.

Although he was proud, the character of the old man in "A Well Lighted Place” was defeated he had money and a family but he wasn’t happy with that he was happy with just a barley and a nice little bar. He was calm polite and was content but not a strong person he sounded defeated sad and depressed “he tried to commit suicide”

Hemingway would starve himself until he wrote a piece he was happy with and he would drink a lot of alcohol and I have a feeling that the old man in the story did something similar. The old man had tried to kill himself and so did Hemingway as did almost every man in Hemingway’s family. Most writers write about their own experiences and their own lives and Hemingway’s story a well lighted place was hopefully just a made up story, but all the facts point to him writing about him self.

Hemingway is the old man, the old man is Hemmingway any way you look at it its obvious that the two people are one even if one is in the distance future. There is no way that Hemingway could of guessed that he was going to become that old man in the story, yet somehow he wrote as if he was in that bar with the old man himself.

The Black Stallion and the Red Mare

Running with your friends from people who are trying to capture you, your friend is at a disadvantage, and will surely be captured, yet have a choice: run and leave your friends behind so you can escape or help your friend and risk your freedom. It is human nature to help others but it is hard to look out for a companion and also yourself.
Donald was a huge fan of these majestic horses because they ran free and did what they wanted, and they were hated by the farmers. Ordered by his father Donald was sent to find and tell the town about the location of these horses, Donald found the horses but then was wondering if he should betray the horses or betrays his dads trust and lie to him. This part of the story reminds of an event that has happened to me. I was suppose to have an essay turned in for a class at school, and I had a choice either do the essay right and get it done now or fool around. I chose fooling around, my essay got a horrible score, now I have to work twice as hard just to make up for that one essay, so I know that even though it seems like the right choice is hard, it will pay off in the long run and will make your life much easier.
If you have someone who you know for a fact would never leave your side, even if it is easier for them to go alone, you should treat them the same way. Donald had chose his father and told the town where the horses were. Red with rage the town went after the horses, the whole group of horses followed the Black Stallion as they tried to escape, soon it was only the Black Stallion and the Red Mare, the black stallion could easily of ran a head and gotten away but as he looked back he saw the mare needing help. He had gone back for the mare and was caught by the people; though the Black Stallion knew this would happen he still tried to help the Mare. A book comes to mind when I read this, “Once Upon This Island” in this story a Indian has to travel thousands of miles to save one of her friend even though everybody in her village has given up hope.
He tried to save the mare and himself but it is difficult to save him self and his companion. He picked the hard decision and was captured, he failed; he was able to make the right decision. He did what he knew was right and tried to save his friend because it is human nature to care for others.

THE PEARL

Pain, anger, loss, evil, and even death are emotions that Kino, Coyotito, and Juan feel in the book ‘The Pearl’. This story is about how greed can destroy people, even innocent people who are just trying to survive in the cruel world.
The evil first started when a scorpion stung baby Coyotio, the child of Juana and Kino, but the worst part was the scorpion was poisonous. But it wasn’t the poison that was going to kill Coyotio. That was their main priority, to try and save the baby, but even though their goal started out good it was only leading down a road of sorrow. They started out trying to save the baby which was their first intention. Then the greed started.
When they first found the pearl Kino looked directly in to it and saw his son in school, a new rifle for him, and a better life for his family in it’s reflection. He also heard the tune of evil just barely on the rim of his ear, but he had too much hope to let it bother him at all. But was it greed in the form of hope? I think the song of evil he hears throughout the story was his god trying to warn him of the future that the path he was taking was going to lead him to. Kino was so blind by the thought of having money that he lost his common sense.
Kino and Juana were doing fine after finding The Pearl. When they went to sell it they thought they were being cheated. They decided to go to a town to try and sell the pearl for a better price but the night they were going to go they were attacked by a stranger. Kino killed him but then they had to leave the town because they knew people would now be after them. Greed is a disease in more ways than one, in this case it is contagious because the people around him are trying to kill him over the pearl.
The true point where the evil and greed did the worst damage is when while on the run to escape the people pursuing them ,Coyotio was killed. That was the wakeup call that Kino needed to see how much the pearl was hurting his family. At this point is when Kino threw the pearl in to the ocean. The greed destroyed his life and his family within.
“Greed destroys society”.

STOLEN DAY
No matter who you are you have lied at least once in your life. Liars, just like the boy in this very interesting short story, all end up the same way. They lead themselves into pain and regret. The short story “The Stolen Day” shows how and why lying is bad.
Sometimes you get away with lying, yet most of the time you get in trouble. Even if you might lie all the time you have been caught at least once, like the boy in this story, who was caught because his lie accidently slipped out. People who get caught lying know it is not fun being yelled at just. Sometimes being sent to your room or even loosing privileges like TV, games, and toys may seem like a harsh punishment but you are misusing someone’s trust. Because the people you lied to are angry at you they think it is fair to punish you harshly. Since you now know about how people get punished you can understand what the boy in “Stolen Day” has to face next like losing privileges. That is another reason why this short story is so great because it is so realistic.
As a result of these fun and interesting lessons this short story teaches you about why lying is bad, stolen day is a very great book and that is why you should read this book and understand about what sort of people lie for their own uses.

The Circuit

The Circuit
On a hot summer day picking strawberries was a common chore for a person living in poverty. The lives of these kinds of people get worse every day but no one realizes how bad it’s getting. In the short story “The Circuit” by Franciso Jimenez the main characters family experiences what its like to live without any thing. They only want to have a better life but they have to work twice as hard as everyone else just to scrape by and it’s not fair but life isn’t fair.

The boy in this story who is never named is forced to move from his house with his family to find work elsewhere. His family consists of a dad, a mom, one older brother, and a sister. He has to deal with loosing all his friends and leaving his home, it is a very tragic feeling for him. He has to leave his whole life behind and has no say in it.

School is not easy for a new person to start especially if you forget your place in the world. I remember when during 3rd grade I had to go to a different school it takes time to fit in or to become part a group and it is hard to understand the social status. When he was picked to read he was speechless he was scared and began to cry. Luckily he was man enough to admit it and asked for help from his teacher. Him doing that gives you an idea about what kind of person he is. It is a little view of his true character.

He has learned English made friends and is going to learn how to play the trumpet but it is time for him to leave. Again he has to leave against his will and no one even realizes how much it hurts him. His life is like a tragedy it ends in a death of a dream. For him life is unfair.

A secret for two intro
The bond between a man and a horse was so great that even death could not separate them. The man needed the horse and the horse needed the man more than any one could of imagined.
